That little town is sometimes referred to as "the furniture capital of the world". There are over 500 furniture stores in High Point. Twice a year High Point Market will host the worlds largest furniture trade show attracting some 80,000 visitors and exhibitors while contributing billions to the local economy. However Las Vegas based World Market Center, which is the second largest furniture exhibitor, has recently merged with High Point Market to form one company. There are also fears the new company would move more actively to Las Vegas. Never the less, as it stands today High Point remains to be a great place to buy quality world renowned furniture at competitive prices.
